Nip It in the Bud

I used to think that the phrase “cutting off a sprout” sounded really cruel.

But now, I realize it’s not wrong.

At first, I felt sad, thinking I was destroying someone’s home.

But after pulling out so many weeds, even my fingertips hurt.

And my thoughts changed.

I should’ve cut off the sprout and pulled it out by the roots from the beginning.

The words of our ancestors were absolutely right.

I’m not sure why I bought a trowel, anyway thanks to Ace Hardware for having it.
