Once he's in, he won’t leave anytime soon

I got a cute paw massage from my cat and went to bed early for a change.
But at 2 a.m., I woke up to my cats meowing .
There was a gecko stuck on the window.
My first thought was, “How can something look like that?”
I had been hearing strange chirping sounds around the house, so I think it was one of his babies.
It probably came in by accident.
I evacuated the cats first, then finally gathered up the courage to go into the room with nothing but a broom.
It was around 25 cm long.
We had a tense standoff for about ten minutes before I finally managed to lure it out through the window.
Anyone who’s seen one up close knows—you can’t catch it, and you definitely can’t kill it.
I stared at that tail for so long, I’m pretty sure I’ll have gecko-tail PTSD for a while.
It’s been hot lately, so I think the heat caused a gap in the screen mesh. I patched it up with double-sided tape.
After that, I gave the cats some well-earned treats and came back to the bedroom… but now I can’t sleep.
