I met up with L unnie for a meal.<\/h6>\n
After picking her and her luggage up in Seminyak, we headed to Brunch Cafe to have her favorite souffl\u00e9 cake.<\/h6>\n
She was surprised by how bumpy my car ride was\u2014with absolutely no cushion at all\u2014and impressed by my driving skills that could handle even the roughest roads.<\/h6>\n
At one point, the road was blocked, so we had to take a detour, but after a few twists and turns, we finally made it to Brunch Cafe.<\/h6>\n
Thanks to the helpful parking attendant, we finally got the car parked and went up to the second floor.<\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/h6>\n
L unnie ordered a burger, I ordered a sandwich, and we also got a souffl\u00e9 cake to share.<\/h6>\n
She said she really loves souffl\u00e9 cakes.<\/h6>\n
It was my first time trying one that day.<\/h6>\n
The surface of the souffl\u00e9 cake looked like the crust of a toasted marshmallow.<\/h6>\n
It<\/a> seems like I get the most chances to try new restaurants or foods when I tag along with Unnies. If I hadn\u2019t met her that day, I probably would\u2019ve never had the chance to try a souffl\u00e9 cake in my life.<\/h6>\n

After finishing our meal, we wandered around the nearby shops looking for a rattan bag, but there wasn\u2019t a single one in sight.<\/h6>\n
It\u2019s always like that \u2014 I can never find it when I\u2019m actually looking for it.<\/h6>\n
Instead, unnie ended up buying a few clothes, and we headed to the hotel where she was checking in that day.<\/h6>\n

After checking in, we ordered some iced coffee at the hotel caf\u00e9.<\/h6>\n
Holding the very sturdy takeout plastic cups, we started talking.<\/h6>\n
Unnie, who knows a lot about what I\u2019ve been through, gently told me to reach out anytime I find it hard to make a decision. It was really touching.<\/h6>\n

After finishing our conversation at the caf\u00e9, we went up to our room on the third floor.<\/h6>\n
I\u2019d heard that many hotels have stopped providing bottled water as part of their environmental campaigns \u2014 and it turned out to be true.<\/h6>\n
There was a water dispenser on each floor and a glass jug in the room.<\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/h6>\n
\u201cThe belief that it\u2019s clean\u201d and \u201cthe belief that the previous guest used it cleanly.\u201d<\/h6>\n
Without that trust, would this kind of social experiment ever succeed?<\/h6>\n
It\u2019s a meaningful change, but selfish as I am, my safety still comes before environmental protection.<\/h6>\n
Since we ended up buying bottled water from the convenience store, the amount of plastic waste from at least one room stayed exactly the same as before the water dispensers were introduced.<\/h6>\n

It\u2019s time to say goodbye to Unnie again.
Somehow, I feel like we\u2019ll meet here again next year.<\/h6>\n
